The fundamental skills of a champion rental professional.

Step 1: Product knowledge: They must perceive you an a rental agent who is extremely competent and seen by your clients as an expert advisor. Someone who knows every aspect of the rental process and the buildings he works with competently.

Step 2: Sales skills: There are seven things that you need to master as a rental agent. They are, prospecting for clients, the first contact with the client on the phone and in person, qualification, presenting the apartment, addressing the clients concerns once they have viewed the apartment, closing the sale and getting quality introductions.

The four things that any agent cannot succeed without are attitude, enthusiasm, discipline and goals.

This article is attributed to Tom Hopkins work book that was given to me at the seminar I attended in August of 2011. I have customized it for rental agents.
